* For the safety of all participants, strollers and pets are not allowed in the 5k.
Parking
All participants are asked to park in the lot north of Mellencamp Pavilion.
On race day, absolutely NO PARKING will be available in the lot North of Assembly Hall, or the lot West and South of Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall.
Race Course
5K Run / 5K Walk [Download Map]
The 5K Run/Walk course begins in the parking area immediately west of Memorial Stadium near the intersection of Dunn and 17th. It will wind throughout the beautiful Indiana University Bloomington campus with the finish culminating in the parking area at the southeast corner outside IU's Memorial Stadium. The 5K Run will be timed through the first hour. (A 5K course is equal to 3.1 miles.)
1-Mile Competitive Kids' Run and 1-mile Family Casual Walk [Download Map]
NEW Route! Both of these events will start in the same location as the 5K, turn east towards the Orange and Green parking lots between the Tennis Pavilion and Assembly Hall and will end at the 5K finish line. The course can be easily navigated by wheelchairs and strollers so that no one is left out.

The course is USATF Course Certified and Sanctioned.
Race Timing and Results Posting
The 5K Run and the 1 Mile Kids Run will be timed by Indiana Running Company using the latest in chip timing technology. The 5K Run and Kids' 1-Mile Run will be timed for one hour. The 5K Walk and the 1 Mile Family Walk will have a display clock only. The decisions of the race manager are final. Results will be promptly posted on hoosiersoutruncancer.org.
It is important that the bib be worn in the proper location to optimize chip detection. Download pdf for diagram.
Awards
- The 1st place male and female in the 5K Run will receive an award and a $100 gift certificate - they will not be eligible for the age division awards.
- The 1st place male and female survivor in the 5K Run will receive an award and a $100 gift certificate and will be eligible for age division awards.
- Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners in age divisions 12 and under, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+.
- Trophies are given to the first three girls and first three boys in the Kids' Run in three age divisions; 6 and under; 7-9 and 10-12.
- All boys and girls in the 5K Run or the 1-Mile Kids' Run will receive a finisher's ribbon.
